Our Story
Travel feels completely different when you know someone local.
Sport makes that connection easy.
The best way to really discover a place is through the people who live there.
LocalTri started with a simple idea.
Wherever we travel, the moments we remember most are rarely the monuments. They are the people we met along the way.
So we asked ourselves a question: what if we could feel part of a local community wherever we travel?
The idea
What if you could arrive somewhere new and already have people to swim, ride or run with?
And then spend the afternoon discovering their favourite places, sharing food, going for a drink, learning about their culture, laughing and seeing where the day takes you.
That is the idea behind LocalTri.
Why LocalTri exists
- Sport creates the connection.
- People create the experience.
- Places are amazing.
- People make them unforgettable.

Hi, I'm Beti, founder of LocalTri
I'm from Donostia-San Sebastián, in the Basque Country, a small corner of northern Spain between the sea and the mountains. As an architect and international aid worker, I've had the opportunity to work around the world and discovered that what really makes a place special is the people you meet and the experiences you share.
Sport is also an important part of my life. I'm part of a local triathlon club and a running team, and that's where LocalTri came from: the desire to bring together my passions — doing sport, meeting people and having experiences that enrich my life — while discovering new places from the inside, alongside the people who live there.
Travellers and clubs
LocalTri organises active travel experiences built around local sports communities.
For travellers, it is a chance to stay active, swim, ride or run with local club members and experience a destination from the inside.
For clubs, it is a chance to welcome athletes from around the world into their training, share their sport and local knowledge and receive payment for their participation, while LocalTri organises and coordinates the trip.
Because LocalTri is not only about sport.
Sport creates the connection. People create the experience.
